Top 04 Must-See Horror Movies On Halloween 2021

However, Horror movies have been thrown aside by film critics at times. Real fright-fest films, on the other hand, have never died out, despite entire eras in which the format was written off by serious art consumers. Why? Because they’re, quite literally, haunting! Manipulate people’s emotions! Perhaps the most visceral cinematic experience is available. If you ask any critic about the scariest film they’ve ever seen, they’ll invariably say it’s one they’ll never forget, regardless of whether they liked it or not.

Perhaps it’s the genre’s underdog status that prepares us to be surprised when a terrific film comes along and scares the living daylights out of us. Just when we think we’ve grown numb to jump scares and gore, a story comes along that leaves us yearning for some sort of levity or conclusion. When you see them around Halloween, the reaction is amplified much more.

Now, more than ever, is the time to dive into a renaissance of good—great!—horror films. You might need a pulse check if names like Candyman, A Quiet Place II, and Antebellum don’t terrify you.
